Pet Peeve: If you already know what time you're going to pick me up, then don't bother asking me what time you ought to pick me up. Just tell me what you decided. Save us both some time and aggravation.

A relative on the phone: "Are you going to the thing tonight?"
Me: Yes
Relative: Oh. Can I go with you?
Me: Sure!
Relative: How's your brother getting there?
Me: *pause* I have no idea.
Relative: *sounding surprised* Oh. Well... what time do you want to pick me up?
Me: Let me check Mapquest.

*time passes*

Me, on phone to relative: Mapquest says a half hour. So I guess I'll pick you up at 5:45.
Relative: You want me to drive over there? It's closer.
Me: Sure.
Relative: What time should I pick you up?
Me: That's 15 minutes off the trip, so come over at 6, I guess.
Relative: Oh, that's not nearly enough time! I'll be there at 5:45.
